BIOGRAPHY

Kadin Goldberg out painting at Bryce Canyon National Park, UT
Born in 1985 in the Santa Cruz mountains of California, Kadin primarily paints the landscape in oil and captures our world in a style known as impressionistic realism. At a very young age he moved with his Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister and 140 pound black lab into their 16 foot travel trailer and proceeded to travel the western United States for a full year. Spending a year in campgrounds and being outdoors every day was where he first found his true passion for both art and nature.

After this year of travel, Kadin’s family settled in Red Lodge, MT where he spent the next 10 years of his life exploring the mountains, drawing, snowboarding and playing music.  While always a hobby artist, he ended up graduating from the University of Montana, Missoula in 2007 with a B.A. in Psychology.  This was a degree which ultimately has been incredibly influential in his career as a landscape painter.

Throughout Kadin’s studies in Psychology he gained an understanding of how skills are learned and decided that persistence in creating art was more important than having innate talent.  After a few years of self study, he moved to Florence, Italy where he studied traditional drawing methods of the masters at Angel Academy of Art.  Longing for access to the outdoors and small town living, Kadin then relocated to Marshall, NC where he would continue his studies with renowned portrait and figurative artist, Angela Cunningham. Having studied for over a year in this intensely focused environment and becoming confident in his technical drawing abilities, he decided it was time to start painting outdoors and learn directly from nature.

Since going outdoors to paint, Kadin has won numerous awards, most notably: First Place at the Rocky Mountain Regional Juried Exhibition in Red Lodge, MT, Second Place at Monuments and Canyons Plein Air in Grand Junction, CO, Third place at the Borrego Springs Plein Air Invitational in Borrego Springs, CA as well as Emerging Artist winner at Art Muse Contest Online. His paintings have been featured in Artist Magazine and Plein Air Magazine and can be found in private collections throughout the United States and abroad.

Today Kadin can be found traveling and painting throughout the western United States with his life partner Heather and his Australian Cattle dog Kaia.

Kadin's influences include: Emil Carlsen, Dennis Miller Bunker, Edgar Payne, Edward Harrison Compton, Nicolai Fechin, Clyde Aspevig, T Allen Lawson, as well as countless others.
